Fashion and Music by Narcisse Designs
Story by Melissa Franic

Fashion and Music are fundamental bonds and the main ingredients for many iconic legends.  Fusing the profound bonds of art, style and audible ecstasy, Chicago's own glamazonian couture wear designers, Narcisse Designs is celebrating its five-year anniversary this fall.

Formed in 2000 by partners Veronika Kotlajic and Derek Geisser, Narcisse Designs, has managed to have works showcased on many stars including the show-stopping dress at last year’s Grammy’s and this year were chosen to headline Lollapalooza. These two Chicago natives are prime examples of the explosive fashion-meets-rock phenomena.

Stylish exhibitionist and famous muse, the living piece of artwork, head designer Veronika created Narcisse Designs with Derek, a stylish 6’8” Chicago fashion and art entrepreneur and a pioneer in the music scene spearheading projects with members of the Smashing Pumpkins, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Jane’s Addiction to name a few.

This unique duo’s background helped meld their aesthetic design philosophy of fashion with a shrewd business sense. Narcisse Designs is not necessarily a label that does things in a “traditional” manner but the results are elegant, stylish pieces of work. that are unlike the sea of store bought garments currently available. Over the course of its five-year history, the Chicago-based label has stayed true to its unconventional approach to establishing their label, skirting the typical dog and pony show demonstrations for buyers and press in favor of individualized attention to their clients. The result is a small but highly sought-after clothing line that is both sophisticated and cool. Their cutting edge designs are showing up in the closets of celebs, starlets, fashionistas and socialites, captivating an international audience.

What is their ideal client? “Ego plays a big role - hence the name Narcisse”. Narcisse customers are fashion forward individuals who want to create a matchless impression. "Our pieces are not products but investments, like art. If you buy a dress from Narcisse, you can wear it for years. since each piece is custom made staying true to the "art" of couture not the trends of this years fashions"

Razor sharp silhouettes, slinky dramatic gowns with unique embellishments and defining details, shape Narcisse’s Fall/Winter 2005 Collection. Luxurious fabrics, furs and unique cuts make up the designs that have a reputation for being sexy and risqué.

The signature sultry creations are the stuff of which legends are made. Visit to view the entire 2005 Collection.
